Description
The Strategic Initiatives Manager - Procurement is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving transformation, innovation, and measurable value across the procurement function. This role bridges strategy and execution, leading cross-functional initiatives that align with enterprise goals and elevate procurement from a tactical function to a strategic business enabler. You will lead sourcing strategies, manage complex projects, and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong execution skills, capable of influencing across functions and delivering tangible results. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
- Design and execute strategic sourcing initiatives for high-value categories, including CAPEX and indirect spend.
- Develop and implement supplier strategies that foster innovation, mitigate risk, and deliver measurable value.
- Serve as a thought partner to procurement and business leadership, providing insights and recommendations on procurement strategy.
Program & Project Management
- Lead cross-functional initiatives from concept to execution, including project planning, stakeholder alignment, and performance tracking .
- Apply the Strategic Procurement Framework to maximize value, service levels, quality, and risk mitigation.
- Monitor initiative KPIs and ensure alignment with business goals and procurement transformation objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal teams (Finance, Legal, Operations, Sales, etc.) to ensure seamless execution of initiatives.
- Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders through reports and presentations.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal partners to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field; MBA or certifications (e.g., PMP, CPSM, LEAN) preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement transformation, or supply chain management.
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects and driving organizational change.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with procurement systems, data analytics, and supplier performance management tools.
Preferred Attributes
- Ability to influence across functions and levels in a matrixed or global organization.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to independently deliver sustainable cost reduction strategies and value creation initiatives.
- Deep understanding of procurement risk management, contract negotiation, and supplier innovation.
