At the Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland, Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau. Our Occupational Safety and Industrial Hygiene (OS&IH) team is seeking a dynamic Safety Specialist within our Central Programs Group who has the ability to provide industry-leading support to the various CPCCo Projects across the plateau. The Central OS&IH Programs team develops, maintains, and verifies that the CPCCo is performing work safely in a manner consistent with company and DOE standards. A day in the life of a Programs Safety Specialist may include the following:
* Providing technical authority for Occupational Safety (OS) programs as assigned, authoring interpretations and representing CPCCo on company and site committees.
* Developing, reviewing and implementing OS Program policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, regulations and orders from regulating entities.
* Advising, consulting, guiding and assisting individuals and organizations in OS matters.
* Obtaining, maintaining and applying the necessary skills and knowledge of OS aspects as assigned to diverse work activities such as operations, construction, maintenance, drilling, modification, fabrication, environmental restoration and deactivation and decommissioning.
* Conducting OS field assessments, inspections and walk downs to evaluate conditions and ensure compliance.
* Developing and maintaining records, reports and documents that may be required to meet corporate or regulatory requirements.
* Providing OS oversight to direct and subcontracted work activities as assigned.


Basic Qualifications


Senior Level Grade 18: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with 8 or more years of relevant experience.

Senior Level Grade 19: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with 9 or more years of relevant experience.

The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.


Desired Qualifications


* Certified Safety Professional.
* Bachelors or Masters Degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, or other related field.


Compensation & Benefits


In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.

Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):

Senior Level Grade 18: $92,700 - $148,550
Senior Level Grade 19: $101,950 - $163,050

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
