Wabtec is hiring Industrial Painters for a unique 3-day weekend schedule that lets you enjoy your weekdays off-without sacrificing opportunity or benefits.

Schedule & Pay



  • Shift: Friday - Sunday | 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM (36 hours + 4 bonus hours = 40 paid hours)
  • Training Pay: $27.88/hour
  • Post-Training Pay: $31.00/hour
  • Progression: Up to $32.25/hour after 6 months, $33.28/hour after 4 years
  • Night Shift Differential: Additional $1/hour on second shift hours



What You'll Do

As an Industrial Painter at Wabtec, your expertise will bring locomotives and mining components to life. You'll rotate through surface prep, painting, finishing, and quality inspections to ensure every product meets our top-tier standards. Your skills with masking, sanding, and defect correction will keep our operations running smoothly and safely.



  • Perform dry sanding, masking/unmasking, finish painting, and sealing
  • Operate and adjust paint equipment for perfect spray patterns
  • Follow all environmental and safety procedures during setup and cleanup
  • Identify and fix paint defects such as runs, sags, dry spray, and orange peel
  • Work with plastic fillers (e.g., Bondo) and perform quality inspections
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and instructions to complete tasks accurately
  • Assist with manufacturing improvements and tooling processes
  • Work safely at heights up to 20 feet using lifts or ladders
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and use required tools and PPE



Who You Are



  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of industrial or automotive painting experience or vocational training
  • Skilled with electrostatic and conventional spray equipment
  • Comfortable working at heights and in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible to work occasional weekends and scheduled overtime
  • Bonus: Auto Body experience, I-CAR/ASE certification, leadership skills, and a strong safety mindset
