The Educational Policy Studies (EPS) department within the College of Education & Human Development is seeking to hire a Data Administrator, Intermediate to support the Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP). PREP is a federally funded initiative that aims to educate adolescents on abstinence and contraception to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

This position is responsible for designing, developing, documenting, analyzing, creating, testing and modifying web applications using the Ruby on Rails framework. The Data Administrator will implement modern software development methodologies, cloud deployment strategies, and best practices to enhance system functionality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:



  • Architect, develop, and manage PostgreSQL databases, optimizing schema design, indexing, and query performance.
  • Ensure secure data integration with cloud storage solutions like Dropbox while maintaining data integrity and accessibility across multiple organizations.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APls and user interfaces to facilitate user management, data tracking, session logging, and comprehensive reporting functionalities.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and performance reporting requirements.
  • Integrate with third-party platforms such as Qualtrics to automate survey distribution, data collection, and analysis.
  • Ensure seamless data flow between systems and enable timely reporting to stakeholders and officials. Implement DevOps best practices for Cl/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure monitoring using Heroku.
  • Monitor system performance, perform security updates, and troubleshoot application issues. Collaborate with stakeholders, provide technical support, and conduct training to ensure efficient system utilization.
  • Assist in generating reports and dashboards for data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.


Preferred Requirements:



  • Experience in Ruby on Rails framework, PostgreSQL database, knowledge of data security, integrity, and privacy standards.
  • Excellent communication skills a must.
