Job Overview
The Equipment Focus Technician is responsible for creating and maintaining the Asset Master within the Chugach Enterprise Management System (CEMS). The incumbent works closely with Maintenance, the MRO Materials Team, Procurement, and suppliers to develop and maintain complete and accurate equipment information to maintain complete and reliable information on the specific assets at all of CGS' operating location is imperative for achieving ChAMP's objectives.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Works with the CGS Master Data Specialist to ensure a complete and accurate Asset Master in CEMS.
- Manages each asset record in CEMS from the point the asset is purchased.
- Attaches pertinent information to each asset record in CEMS.
- Ensures each critical asset record in CEMS has the required information, such as AR Tracker, asset classification, failure codes, drawings, manufacturer/model/serial number/revision, nameplate design specifications, PM routines and schedules criticality code, MRO Bill of Materials and warranty information.
- Attaches all supporting information to asset records, including enhanced asset record data, drawings and specifications, PM routines, and hierarchical data.
- Works with Engineering, Maintenance, Procurement, and suppliers to obtain the required information.
- Conducts meetings no less than quarterly to discuss project activities, resolve Equipment Master discrepancies, and provide interested parties the Equipment Master data with input regarding the decisions that affect them.
- Ensures that each record in CEMS is populated with complete and accurate information.
- Ensures that the data integrity of each asset record is maintained.
- Ensures that all assets and positions in the field are identified with the correct Asset Number as identified by CEMS.
- Creates and maintains complete and accurate asset hierarchies in CEMS.
- Works with Procurement and Engineering to gather and attach asset warranty information.
- Identifies key members of the Team to control insert, change, and delete access on all EAM asset records.
- Manages the asset hierarchy in CEMS.
- Assists in identifying and prioritizing critical assets.
- Assists the M&R Specialist in performing Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) on high- priority critical assets to identify high-risk failure modes.
- Prioritizes and selects "potential" critical failure modes.
- Assists the M&R Specialist in performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on critical asset failures to identify root cause of a failure and create effective corrective actions to prevent the problem from reoccurring.
- Ensures each asset is assigned to the correct asset Classification
- Performs field visits as necessary to capture and/or verify nameplate information on installed assets
- Assists the M&R Specialist in analyzing asset failure information on all selected critical assets. Employs RCA methods to identify and eliminate equipment failure root causes.
- Keeps management informed and up to date on all Equipment Focus Technician activities and project results.
- May assist with project activities such as development of bill of materials (BOM) or tagging assets.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
- May be required to pass drug screen and background check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government National Agency Check (NAC) clearance and/or security clearance if required.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record pertinent to this position.
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
- U.S. Citizenship.
