Aviation Mishap Analyst

ANALYGENCE supports HQ ACC Flight Operations Division (A3T) with combat readiness and training of the Combat Air Forces. Support includes technical and subject matter expertise to develop and oversee policy for ACC flight operations, aircrew flying training, mission operations, and formal training programs.

In support of this mission, we have an immediate opportunity for an Aviation Mishap Analyst. In this role you will manage aircraft mishap recommendations for which ACC/A3 is the OPR or office of coordinating responsibility (OCR). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Respond to Safety Investigation Board (SIB) requests for assistance in drafting accurate recommendations, assigning correct OPR/OCR, and assigning AF Form 847 ACC tracking numbers for SIB recommended changes to AF Publications.
  • Prepare Division-level coordination for Government approval of final mishap reports.
  • Track all SIB recommendations with A3 as the OPR/OCR and ensure status, estimated completion date (ECD), and PoC are current for each recommendation in the AF Safety Automated System (AFSAS).
  • Prepare and pre-brief A3 data for Class A and Class B mishaps prior to presentation to COMACC for a decision at the semi-annual Hazard Review Board (HRB).
  • Prepare and pre-brief A3T data for Class C, D, and E mishaps prior to presentation to A3 for a decision.
  • Submit SIB recommendations for closure that have been successfully completed, or that have been risk accepted by A3 or COMACC.
  • Active Secret clearance
  • USAF aircrew qualification, OR Flight Standardization and Evaluation expertise, OR Experience with aircrew safety
  • 1 year of HQ staff experience at the NAF level or higher
  • 3 years of experience using Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to clearly communicate technical approaches and findings
