Underwriting & Risk Assessment Technician

What You'll Do

• Reviews submitted material to determine the insurability, proper coding, depreciation, and value of buildings and equipment.
• Reviews submitted rough diagrams, and draws a computer-generated scale finished diagram of the insured property.
• Performs basic to complex underwriting technician duties within guidelines.
• Provides assistance to Underwriters by handling a variety of tasks that support the review, acceptance/decline of new or renewal commercial lines business.
• Prepares a computer-generated scale finished diagram of the insured property.
• Communicate regularly with Underwriting to help determine insurability of prospective and insured property.
• Reviews of loss control reports following specific guidelines.
• Corresponds with Account Executives, Independent Agents, Customer Service Associates, bureaus or others to secure information needed or verify application information.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned from time to time.

What it Takes

• Associate Degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 1 year of related work experience
• Basic skills in drafting techniques preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
