Responsible for valuing property from information received from field representatives which includes completing a finished diagram of the insured's property. Performs basic underwriting support duties within guidelines and provides assistance to underwriters by handling a variety of tasks that support the review, acceptance/decline of new or renewal commercial lines business.
What You'll Do
- Reviews submitted material to determine the insurability, proper coding, depreciation, and value of buildings and equipment.
- Reviews submitted rough diagrams, and draws a computer-generated scale finished diagram of the insured property.
- Performs basic to complex underwriting technician duties within guidelines.
- Provides assistance to Underwriters by handling a variety of tasks that support the review, acceptance/decline of new or renewal commercial lines business.
- Prepares a computer-generated scale finished diagram of the insured property.
- Communicate regularly with Underwriting to help determine insurability of prospective and insured property.
- Reviews of loss control reports following specific guidelines.
- Corresponds with Account Executives, Independent Agents, Customer Service Associates, bureaus or others to secure information needed or verify application information.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned from time to time.
What it Takes
- Associate Degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 1 year of related work experience
- Basic skills in drafting techniques preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
