DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will manage incoming calls and correspondence, respond to constituent inquiries, and craft clear, thoughtful communications-from proclamations and policy letters to everyday outreach. You will collaborate across state agencies, identify trends, and help align messaging with policy goals-all while ensuring every Pennsylvanian gets the support and answers they deserve. You will also work with a team on mail operations, including US mail and online submissions, and staffing the Governor's Reception Room. Your work will directly impact lives across the state. Whether resolving a constituent's concern or drafting a message that reflects our values, you will be part of a team that puts public service and communication at the center of everything. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of professional experience in communications, public relations, journalism, correspondence and/or customer service work; or
- A bachelor's degree, with major coursework in communications, political science, public relations, English, journalism or other humanities; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to work with mail merges, data management systems, and manipulating and communicating data accurately and concisely.
- You must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- You must have professional and courteous telephone etiquette.
- You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- You must be able to efficiently meet multiple deadlines and timetables.
- You must be able to identify and evaluate source material for veracity and accuracy.
- You must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, execute high-volume projects, and demonstrate personal initiative in moving projects along.
- You must use good judgment in divulging highly sensitive information.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Knowledge of state agency functions, policies, and procedures
- Previous call center or front line customer service experience
- Ability to speak and write in a language other than English

- You must pass a background investigation.
