THE POSITION

We are looking for a motivated and dedicated individual to perform administrative and advanced technical work directing security hardware and software infrastructure for Public Safety and Enterprise security administration, planning, and design. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Information Security Specialist 2, your work will be based on and in support of the public policy objectives of the Governor's Policy Office as well as security and network policies of the Enterprise Information Security Office in support of the Commonwealth. You will be responsible for providing technical and administrative management support for the security operations solutions, supporting firewall management, remote access, security incident response, and their associated infrastructures. You will have the opportunity to work with multiple Delivery Centers and the Enterprise to enable them to meet their business objectives while lowering the risk of misuse of information and denial of service. Work also involves acting as a Public Safety team lead as part of the Commonwealth Computer Incident Response Team where you will perform response functions to security violations reported or observed. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Information Security Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience performing technical work in information technology security, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
  • One year of experience performing technical work in information technology security, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires two or more years of full-time professional IT experience troubleshooting Enterprise networks or Enterprise network related issues.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require an in-depth Pennsylvania State Police background check.
