The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is currently seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to support the Sports Medicine program. The Assistant Athletic Trainer for baseball will provide health care services to student-athletes at the University of Virginia. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree. Experience: One year of certified athletic trainer experience in an NCAA institutional athletic environment. Certified Athletic Trainer per the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC). CPR/AED certifications. Valid driver's license and personal transportation. Preferred Qualifications Education: Master's Degree. Preferred experience includes: 2+ years' experience working in a Division I-A institution. First Aid/CPR Instructor. Experience working in the supervision and education of student interns and graduate assistants. Experience providing Sports Medicine coverage for baseball and/or injuries in the upper extremity. Experience with throwing shoulder technology / movement assessments / prehab plansLicensure: CES, PES, FMS, cupping, and/or Graston certifications preferred. Physical Demands: Work is performed in the process of providing medical assistance and services to student-athletes which may include physical therapy and rehabilitation. Work is performed in a Sports Medicine facility possibly with the use of compressed gasses, cleaning products, weight bearing and strengthening equipment and apparatus.
