Position Summary
The UC Office of the President is actively seeking a PeopleSoft Administrator in lead position with some knowledge in MuleSoft to support critical projects with enterprise-wide impact across all the campuses / medical centers and the Office of the President at all levels. Support PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 implementations hosted at AWS Cloud Services. The candidate will have the ability to make a difference and have a real influence in how they can best manage and support this large implementation. The candidate understands HA (High availability), Load balancers, Oracle CPU patching, Tax-updates, PeopleSoft Tools and application upgrades (PUM cycles) and will drive annual Disaster recovery exercise of PeopleSoft system by coordinating with all the teams involved and the stakeholders to ensure a successful DR drill. The candidate will apply expert level skills in all aspects of PeopleSoft administration and serve as a technical lead in implementing and supporting enterprise PeopleSoft deployments. Core responsibilities include developing and implementing enterprise standards, policies, and best practices to manage and support PeopleSoft HCM and their corresponding components (Candidate Gateway, Talent Acquisition and Management, Integration Broker, Tools and PUM upgrades etc.,). They will have proficiency in troubleshooting production performance issues that support our large end-user population across multiple organizational units with high consequences of success or failure. May occasionally be required with notice to provide remote on-call support during off hours.

Key Responsibilities

30% Designs, analyzes and implements systems and develops solutions for critical issues. Manage and develop standards for best practices in PeopleSoft. Support UCPath applications including HCM Payroll, PeopleSoft recruiting module (Candidate gateway and TAM), and Absence management. Develop, implement and maintain procedures to ensure reliable and secure Production environment. Work with vendors and UCOP technical staff in resolving problems.

15% Documents processes and procedures for production control staff. Provides on-call production support for critical applications as needed. Coordinates quarterly Oracle CPU patches, Tools patches and Tax updates. Applies patches to PHIRE migration tool. Supports UCPath projects such as Tools and PUM upgrades during project life cycle and production cut-over window. Understands PeopleSoft refreshes and lead quarterly PeopleSoft and ad-hoc refresh efforts by coordinating with teams including Database, App dev, business, end users, database replication, release management and project teams

20% Provides expert troubleshooting for isolating technical problems in PeopleSoft Internet Architecture (PIA) including Oracle databases, Tuxedo Application Servers on Unix, Process Schedulers on both Unix and NT, WebLogic configuration, FTP servers, Elastic Search, Application Engine, Data Mover, SQR, Cobol, BI Publisher, Application Messaging/Integration Broker, PS Query, People Code, Security, ExcelToCI, VMWare PUM staging, SSL Certificates, SSO, MuleSoft integration components and PUM and Tools upgrade related issues; debug and optimize SQL statements. Knowledge of release management using PHIRE is a plus.

20% Manages and responds to service now requests, incidents and changes. Involves in problem management, log analysis and performance optimization of different hosted applications. Evaluates various hardware and software solutions to meet business requirements. Maximizes PeopleSoft Performance by performing system analysis, monitoring and tuning; troubleshooting, escalating application issues problems to vendors, suggesting process improvements and helping in developing standardizations

15% Executes security controls to prevent unauthorized access of PeopleSoft users. Prepares quarterly security audit documentation for PeopleSoft service IDs. Ensures periodic password changes of service ID's in PeopleSoft.

Experience
Required Qualifications

  • Min 4 years of experience with PeopleSoft maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting production issues including at least 2 years of experience in PeopleSoft integrations (IB) including experience in SSO and Load balancers.
  • Min 4 years of experience in CPU patching, refreshes, Tax-updates and knowledge of PUM upgrades

Skills and Abilities
Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrates expertise with trouble shooting PeopleSoft applications on Unix systems.
  • Demonstrates understanding of security concepts in a PeopleSoft environment and experience with COBOL, sqr.
  • Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent written communications skills which demonstrate the ability to draft clear, concise specifications, documentation and reports.
  • Ability to understand PeopleSoft integration and trouble shoot SOAP and REST based web service issues.
  • Ability to plan assignments and monitor performance according to priorities as demonstrated by regularly meeting established deadlines.
  • Ability to function in a leadership role on projects.
  • Ability to handle interruptions and changes without losing productivity.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

The University of California, Office of the President, is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range shows the growth potential for this position and the pay scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
