Job Description Summary: We are seeking a forward-thinking IT Manager to lead the planning, execution, maintenance and support of healthcare IT systems across a 9-clinic ecosystem. This role blends hands-on technology management with strategic vision, enabling clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and digital innovation. The ideal candidate brings a patient-centric mindset, a proven track record of collaboration and planning with business leaders, deep EMR knowledge (especially AthenaHealth), a track record of leading teams and systems in regulated environments, and strong knowledge of clinical systems integration, preferably with AthenaHealth.   • Collaborate with Spira Care leadership to define and lead the technology eco-system and roadmap aligned with clinical, operational, and strategic goals.
  • Adhere to all Blue KC policies, procedures and standards, develop and oversee unified technology, infrastructure, applications, and cybersecurity strategies across all sites.
  • Design scalable IT ecosystems and integration that supports growth, digital transformation, and patient-first care models.
  • Act as the internal consultant and strategic partner for Spira Care leadership and clinic leaders on all IT-related decisions and plans.
  • Manage all hardware, network, server, telephony, cloud services, and endpoint device environments.
  • Lead IT governance, asset lifecycle management, procurement, and budgeting.
  • Build disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities for all 9 locations.
  • Lead AthenaHealth EMR platform configuration, optimization, and integration with labs, imaging, pharmacy, and revenue cycle tools.
  • Oversee systems integration and interface management and clinical data interoperability.
  • Manage the Athena vendor relationship, support and service level agreements, and overall services from vendors.
  • Manage Athena modules (Collector, Clinicals, Communicator) and any new capabilities within each module for consistency and performance.
  • Supervise internal IT staff, external vendors, and project teams with a leadership style that encourages growth, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Create a high-trust, high-performance environment with inclusive practices and developmental feedback loops.
  • Partner with HR and department heads on onboarding, technical training, and digital literacy initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 2-3 years managing clinical or healthcare systems.
  • Proven leadership of multi-site environments or complex system ecosystems.
  • Experience in AthenaHealth EMR systems, including user support, integration, and optimization.
  • Strong background in network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and vendor relationship management.
  • Expertise in managing clinical applications, especially AthenaHealth.
  • Strong problem-solving and systems-thinking mindset.
  • Able to translate technical information into business language for executives.
  • Exceptional change management, stakeholder communication, and decision-making skills.
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to influence non-technical stakeholders.
  • Thrives in cross-functional, multidisciplinary settings.
  • Fosters a growth mindset and a culture of innovation and accountability.
  • Demonstrated success in IT project management and service operations.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and end-user experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Technology Management, or equivalent
