Workflow Requirements Analyst (Business Systems Analyst) Job Summary B&A is seeking an experienced and analytical Workflow Requirements Analyst (Business Systems Analyst) to support enterprise business process and system integration initiatives. This role is critical in bridging business needs with technical solutions, with a focus on workflow documentation, system interface requirements, and enterprise content management (ECM) platforms. The successful candidate will have strong experience with system integration and Agile methodologies and will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to capture, analyze, and document requirements that drive workflow configuration and system design. Responsibilities
- Analyze and translate business processes and user needs into detailed system requirements, technical designs, and functional specifications.
- Elicit, document, and validate functional, non-functional, and technical requirements from business users, program offices, and development teams.
- Document workflows in sufficient detail to support accurate configuration in ECM platforms, particularly OpenText Content Suite and AppWorks.
- Define system interface and integration requirements, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure interoperability across platforms.
- Develop user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria within Agile frameworks; maintain traceability between business needs and technical solutions.
- Collaborate with developers, solution architects, and test teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure requirements are implemented effectively and meet stakeholder expectations.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and support backlog grooming and prioritization.
- Provide quality assurance support by reviewing test plans and validating solution designs against requirements.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of professional experience with system integration and system interface development.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding and practical experience with workflow documentation and business process modeling.
- Demonstrated experience documenting technical/design requirements from business-level inputs.
- Experience working with ECM platforms, particularly OpenText Content Suite and AppWorks.
- Certifications in Agile methodologies (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Agilist, PMI-ACP).
Desired Skills
- Experience supporting system implementation projects in federal or healthcare IT environments.
- Familiarity with BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) and tools such as Visio, Bizagi, or Lucidchart.
- Experience working in secure IT environments with knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
- Exposure to system development lifecycle (SDLC) models beyond Agile, such as Waterfall or Hybrid.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams including developers, architects, testers, and end users.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and organizational abilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
