Overview

Southern Cancer Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Radiation Services to lead and oversee our radiation and imaging oncology operations at our Daphne and Foley clinics. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in radiation therapy, proven leadership experience, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage all radiation and imaging oncology personnel and technologies across Daphne, Foley, and other service sites.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards (e.g., JACHO, NRC).
  • Collaborate with the Radiation Services Director and Joint Venture leadership on clinical and operational strategy.
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term plans, budgets, and service expansion initiatives.
  • Monitor service growth, capacity planning, and resource allocation (staffing, facilities, and technology).
  • Oversee the implementation of clinical and administrative IT systems to support operations.
  • Foster collaboration between departments and ensure effective communication across all service sites.
  • Manage departmental budgets, supply ordering, and cost control.
  • Evaluate performance across all radiation and imaging locations and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Standardize clinical procedures and ensure consistent, high-quality care delivery.
  • Direct hiring, training, and licensure compliance for all radiation staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and set departmental goals to drive growth and productivity.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and charge capture in accordance with US Oncology reimbursement guidelines.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program.
  • Minimum of 7 years of radiation oncology experience, including:
    • At least 2 years as a practicing Radiation Therapist (RTT) or Dosimetrist.
    • At least 3-5 years in a managerial or administrative role.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • State licensure for radiation therapy preferred.
  • Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) preferred, but not required.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit, use hands, and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
  • Exposure to clinical environments including communicable diseases, ionizing radiation, and medical substances.
  • Regular travel by air or automobile within the service area is required.
