Job Title: 2nd Shift Machine Operator


Schedule: 2:45pm - 11:00pm Monday-Friday


Location: Grand Rapids, MI


Job Description


Machine Operators are responsible for operating our scrap material recycler. This includes maintaining a clean and safe operating environment, efficiently operating machines, planning materials for production, immediately reporting any concerns/issues with safety, machines, quality, etc. to the appropriate individual, and more.


Responsibilities



  • Set-up and operate Erema machine and support high-quality products.
  • Observes and checks finished product coming off the machine and takes immediate corrective action to eliminate the causes of a sub-standard product.
  • Remove gaylords when full and record weight and label material numbers.
  • Monitor's equipment to ensure it is operating properly and under supervision of the Lead Operator performs routine maintenance on equipment.


  • Complete daily production paperwork and troubleshoot stoppages and breakdowns.
  • Under the direction of the Lead Operator, may train team members the correct operating procedures, safety, and quality policy procedures.
  • Learn and comprehend all equipment, so adjustments can be made if/when needed.
  • Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined at Pregis Films.
  • Perform all aspects of the position to the highest quality.
  • Report any non-conformance to Supervisor immediately.
  • Know all quality standards and expectations of the position and if not sure, ask the supervisor beforecontinuing.
  • Able to react swiftly in a safe manner in high stress situations.
  • Willingness to learn.

Education and Experience



  • High School diploma or equivalent.


  • Manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Able to work any 8-hour shift.



Position Type



  • Full time.
  • Overtime expected per business demand.


Physical Requirements



  • Adhere to physical requirements, including being able to continuously lift 50lbs, and be on your feet for 8 hours.
