Job Summary

Our Facilities Controls Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of building automation systems (BAS), control systems, and equipment that support HVAC, lighting, energy management, and other critical infrastructure. This role ensures optimal performance and energy efficiency of facilities systems, supports troubleshooting efforts, and contributes to system upgrades and projects.


Essential Duties

  • Install, program, test, and commission building automation systems (BAS), including HVAC, lighting, access control, and energy management systems.

  • Maintain and calibrate sensors, controllers, actuators, and other control components.

  • Troubleshoot and repair control system malfunctions to minimize downtime.

  • Interpret system drawings, schematics, and manuals to support diagnostics and repairs.

  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and IT teams to integrate control systems with existing infrastructure.

  • Monitor building systems via BMS/BAS to identify and resolve alarms, inefficiencies, or performance issues.

  • Document system changes, configurations, and maintenance activities in accordance with regulatory standards and company policies.

  • Participate in upgrades or retrofits of facility systems to improve energy efficiency and system reliability.

  • Respond to emergency situations and participate in an on-call rotation if required.


Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with facilities controls systems, building automation systems, or related technical field.
  • Experience with common BAS platforms (e.g., Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Trane, Schneider Electric, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Associate degree in Electronics, HVAC, Building Automation, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
