About the Job

Summary of position:
The Professional Education Division supports the College of Pharmacy's teaching and learning mission through the coordination of our professional programs, experiential education offerings, and innovative online learning opportunities. These units work together to coordinate and develop different aspects of the Doctor of Pharmacy program as well as the College of Pharmacy's online education, in order to develop world-class leaders in pharmaceutical practice. The Pharmacy Learning Collaborative (PLC) creates and facilitates innovative, interactive online courses for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. PLC is dedicated to providing high quality educational opportunities to current and future health care professionals. As an integral and independent member of the PLC team, serve as course coordinator for a portfolio of assigned courses within the College of Pharmacy.

Position Duties:
PLC Course Coordination (65%)
* Collaborates with instructors for the execution of course preparation, delivery, closing,
and evaluation.
* Consult with course directors and instructors to bolster student learning, engagement,
retention, and success. This includes:
Collaborating with instructors to analyze learner needs and to support design and
delivery of evidence-based learning activities
Ensuring that assessments are based on intended learning objectives
Evaluating materials to ensure consistency with the University's accessibility
initiatives
Consulting with course directors to support development and revision of course
content to help ensure that course content and learning experiences are
inclusive, accessible, and effective. Ensure courses meet RSI requirements.
Guiding revisions based on course data and evaluation
* Facilitate course preparations, including ordering textbooks and developing, revising,
and maintaining Canvas course sites. Provide input and support for course instructors to
create and update course content.
* Implement timely delivery of course communications, course logistics and release of
learning materials. Serve as the first point of contact for courses.
* Monitor student progress in the course and communicate with students directly with
concerns including missed assignments, low scores, and student absences. Track
student progression and submit midterm alerts and complete athletic reporting.
* Serve as a liaison between students and the proper offices and/or on-campus authorities
when problems arise, and make appropriate referrals (e.g. student counseling services,
academic advising, disability resource center, international student and scholar services,
etc)
* Make autonomous decisions regarding student administrative requests, such as
permission numbers, late registration, extension and incomplete requests that do not
require instructor authorization.
* Lead course closure, including posting/submitting grades and preparing online survey
data/course statistics.

Course Development and Assessment (25%)
* Manage development of new online courses including collaborating with instructors to
design and develop inclusive, accessible, evidence-based, and effective learning
experiences. Serve as both consultant in instructional design and support for
development of LMS site and course materials.
* Develop and monitor metrics for evaluating curricular effectiveness in the unit including a
process that incorporates current assessments and review such as student ratings of
teaching, course surveys, and course reports.
* Initiate, manage, and modify practices/procedures to improve efficiency and quality
improvement, timeliness, and resource allocation/effectiveness across units. Examples
include: Developing/improving processes for accommodations, assessments (pre/post
exam review analysis/procedure), syllabi review, cohesiveness of courses, student
experience, and aligning courses and programs with student learning outcomes and
University standards.
* Consult with the unit to solve problems to improve design and learner experience.
Examples include investigating alternative assessments, universal design strategies,
and revising instructional design components.
* Lead on special projects as needed within the PLC unit or across teams.

Professional Development/Miscellaneous (10%)
* Keep current with developments in the field, diversity/equity/inclusion, best practices,
teaching methods, pedagogy, and science
* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
* BA/BS plus at least two years experience, or master's degree.
* Experience with development and delivery of courses within a LMS
* Flexibility and ability to work collaboratively in a complex interdisciplinary setting.
* Strong organizational skills combined with the ability to adhere to timelines.
* Knowledge of and commitment to the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in an education-related field
* Experience should include 2 years working in education (work in a health profession
school or other higher education setting is a plus).
* Experience with asynchronous educational modalities, creation of multimedia
educational presentations, faculty development, media formats, and active learning,
preferably Canvas.
* Experience working in a large, complex department/organization

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $72,000- $77,000; depending on education/qualifications/experience
