Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following locations: NC, AZ

We are seeking an experienced Director to lead the data ingestion, modeling, observability and DevSecOps platform engineering functions within our newly formed Cloud Data Platform organization. This role is instrumental in building a modern, enterprise-scale data warehouse that supports reliable, secure, and efficient advanced analytics from our Snowflake-based data platform.

You will lead multiple teams responsible for developing high-throughput, resilient, and maintainable platforms consisting of both vendor hosted and custom developed solutions. As a seasoned leader in this space, you will bring your direct experiences executing cloud data transformations and partner with other key leaders and stakeholders to meet our strategic objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution and delivery of our cloud-native data platform foundation, including Snowflake on AWS, infrastructure-as-code provisioning, security controls, and DevSecOps enablement.
  • Manage and mentor cross-functional engineering teams responsible for platform services that support data ingestion, recon frameworks, modeling, controls, observability and DevSecOps.
  • Define and enforce scalable patterns and standards for environment management, identity and access, encryption, and cost optimization.
  • Partner closely with ingestion, modeling, observability and DevSecOps POD leaders to ensure platform services evolve to meet the demands of prioritized use cases and enterprise scale.
  • Continuously enhance platform resiliency, observability, and automation while scaling operational processes to support growing business adoption and data workloads.
  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering Agile methodologies, upskilling in cloud-native technologies, and driving innovation in data science and analytics domains.
  • Business Support - Works closely with business partners and the Information Technology department to determine, address, and implement solutions for business needs. Ensures the reliability of deployed solutions by managing applications support and maintenance.
  • Managerial Functions - Establishes and monitors expectations to achieve company and department goals. Manages the performance, training, and evaluation of assigned staff. Maximizes team achievements by providing professional development.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Information Technology including application development, support roles, and management. OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Information Technology including application development, support roles, and management.

Preferred Area of Experience: Financial services with Integration of third-party solutions in on premise and cloud environment License or Certification Type: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Agile Project Manager IAPM, PMI-ACP. Preferred Skill(s): Knowledge of information technology as it relates to managing development, principles, and practices, Ability to manage and customize third party solutions, managing vendor relationships to escalate and ensure support of ongoing business, Ability to develop short term and long-term plans to support business needs, Ability to assess, acquire and retain tor appropriately manage talent
