Production Manager

Central Power Systems & Services is a privately held company with deep roots going back to 1954. We are looking for a Production Manager who shares our passion for our products, our desire for continued growth, and our commitment to build more meaningful relationships founded on trust and integrity.

Position Summary:

The Production Manager is responsible for building production schedules, ensuring production processes stay within budgets and meet deadlines and reviewing the productivity of all manufacturing equipment and processes. Responsibilities also include keeping accurate material inventories, making supply orders and effectively leading team members in the production effort.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Ensure all safety and health standards are met to maintain an accident-free workplace
  • Develop workplace policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising quality or workplace safety
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OEE, yield, labor efficiency, scrap, and downtime
  • Implement and sustain Lean manufacturing practices, 5S, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage labor planning, overtime, and resource allocation to optimize productivity
  • Set productivity goals for each manufacturing operation collaborating with supply chain, maintenance, quality and engineering
  • Continuously evaluate resources and equipment to minimize downtime and increase production
  • Motivate, guide and support production staff
  • Communicate regularly with upper management to resolve issues impacting production



Qualifications

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:




  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in production environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven record of effectively training and managing employees in the areas of safety and production
  • Working knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 certified facility preferred, ISO 9001 Auditor certification a plus
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma training and certifications strongly preferred
