Senior Project Manager-Financial Planning & Analysis

This position is part of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team and reports directly to the Director of FP&A and ultimately to the CFO with high exposure to the C-suite. We are seeking a highly analytical and technically proficient Project Manager to lead transformational initiatives across the Finance function. This position plays a central role in modernizing our financial systems/reporting infrastructure, including the development of a centralized data warehouse, advancement of advanced analytics using Power BI, and the establishment of reporting governance through a Center of Excellence (COE).

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Project Management



  • Lead cross-functional FP&A initiatives aimed at improving reporting robustness, turnaround time, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand evolving reporting needs and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Present project progress and outcomes to executive leadership, providing actionable insights and recommendations.


Data Warehouse Development



  • Collaborate with FP&A, other informational subject matter experts, IT, and analytics teams to define requirements and design the structure for a centralized financial data warehouse.
  • Oversee ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data is accurately sourced from all pertinent information systems.
  • Conduct data validation and quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of data.
  • Partner to establish a COE and maintain data governance, including security, access, and metadata standards.


Power BI Reporting



  • Design and deploy interactive dashboards and self-service reports using Power BI.
  • Use Excel for prototyping and validating financial models prior to Power BI integration.
  • Ensure continuity between Excel-based financial modeling and Power BI visualizations.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and adjust reports based on feedback from key stakeholders.


Center of Excellence (COE) Leadership



  • Help build and operationalize the Finance reporting COE focused on governance, visualization standards, and process improvement.
  • Define best practices for dashboard performance, consistency, and scalability.
  • Contribute to training and support documentation, empowering FP&A staff and business partners.


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, MIS or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, FP&A, business intelligence, or financial transformation.
  • Proven experience with SQL, Power BI (including DAX and Power Query) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with project planning tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet).
  • Proven experience communicating effectively with technical and non-technical users up to executive leadership


Other bonus Qualifications:



  • Master's degree (MBA or related).
  • PMP Certification or equivalent project management credential.
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts, budgeting/forecasting, and performance metrics a plus.
  • Experience with data warehouse tools or cloud platforms such as Azure SQL or Synapse.
  • Familiarity with FP&A applications (e.g., Hyperion, Anaplan, SAP, Oracle).
  • Experience participating in or supporting a Center of Excellence or governance group, as well as conducting UAT.
