Learn more about the UC Office of the President Department Overview 30% Facility Operations & Repairs * Respond to maintenance requests, service calls, and urgent repair needs at both locations. * Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, engaging external service providers as necessary. * Oversee custodial, AV, and access control services in Sacramento in coordination with UC Davis. * Provide recommendations to BASC leadership on facility-related procedures, budget considerations, space allocation, staffing needs, and infrastructure improvements. * Reviews and critiques contract documents for construction, including plans and specifications from outside consultants. * Assist with budget development for facility moves, minor infrastructure upgrades, and long-term capital planning to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability. * Collaborate with the BASC Space Planning team to analyze, develop, and implement space allocation strategies that optimize facility utilization and align with UCOP operational goals. * Work with UC Davis Finance, Operations & Administration, and the Office of Information & Educational Technology to administer the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for shared services with UCOP * Maintain and oversee building-related plans, procedures, and regulatory compliance, including access controls, security, emergency preparedness, hazardous materials storage and disposal, crime prevention, fire safety inspections, and compliance reporting. Conduct facility safety audits and track adherence to fire safety, hazardous materials, and emergency response regulations 25% Preventive & Routine Maintenance (Sacramento & Oakland) * Performs and oversees preventive maintenance for building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety equipment. * Conducts regular inspections and repairs to ensure efficient building operations. * Works closely with vendors, contractors, utility providers to schedule maintenance and repair work, ensuring minimal disruption. 20% Space & Facility Coordination (Sacramento) * As primary or back up oversees conference and hoteling space scheduling, ensuring optimal utilization of shared workspaces. * Coordinates with UCOP and UC Davis on space planning, security access, and custodial services. * Provides on-the-ground support for facilities projects and support off-hours events as needed. * Oversee and regulate the allocation of recharge costs for services provided within the UC Student and Policy Center in Sacramento, ensuring accurate distribution among relevant parties. 10% Emergency & Incident Response * Acts as the first responder for facility-related emergencies in both locations, ensuring rapid issue resolution. * Support and coordinates after-hours emergency repairs and communicates urgent building issues to leadership. * Ensures compliance with fire safety, security, and emergency preparedness protocols. * Leads building safety inspections and ensures compliance with fire codes, ADA regulations, and UCOP emergency preparedness protocols, including risk assessment, coordination of evacuation procedures, and conducting regular safety drills. 15% Vendor & Contract Management * Develops and manages vendor contracts for maintenance, custodial, and security services, ensuring cost efficiency, performance tracking, and adherence to UCOP procurement policies, with a focus on optimizing service delivery. * Coordinate and oversee the processing of purchase orders, invoices, and contracts in collaboration with the Business Resource Center, ensuring accuracy, compliance with procurement policies, and timely vendor payments. * Tracks work orders and ensures vendors deliver services per contract terms. * Provides recommendations for operational improvements while staying within budget constraints.
