Velosity Brooklyn Park is searching for a Materials Warehouse Lead to support our manufacturing facility in Brooklyn Park, MN. The Materials Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the shipping and receiving activities for the most efficient, safe and timely product deliveries.

This is an on-site position.

The typical pay range for this role: $27.00 - $30.00

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.

Essential Duties:

  • Schedules and ships all products to ensure timely and cost effective delivery.
  • Prints packing slips and completes pre-ship audits (PSA) for inclusion with outgoing shipments.
  • Responsible for packing slip accuracy.
  • Packages outgoing shipments for safe delivery, as requested by customers per specified delivery instructions and per process.
  • Responsible for pulling/issuing materials from the warehouse for the production team based on the production schedule.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counting and verification of inventory to Epicor or other systems. Adjust quantities to keep inventory correct and monitors qty adjust value.
  • Maintains and organizes inventory of shipping materials and supplies, operates forklift or other equipment to move product to proper storage area or location of use.
  • Inspect and receive inbound shipments, verify count of incoming materials with packing list, rejecting damaged items, recording discrepancies on the packing list.
  • Communicates with Planning, Customer Service, Department Supervisors and Project Managers to coordinate shipping activities per Process.
  • Runs shipping pick list and reports out daily shipments through e-mail or smartsheet to support on time delivery (OTD).
  • Train all personnel to operate a forklift and scissor lift.
  • Coordinating all aspects of Shipping and Receiving facilitates the expedient preparation of outbound shipments for delivery by Courier, FedEx, UPS, Air Freight or L.T.L. and to process receipts for inbound deliveries of materials.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day activities and training of warehouse associates; coordinates workflow, motivates team, helps with monitoring and evaluating performance for the Shipping and Receiving Coordinators, Material Handlers or any other persons working in the Warehouse.
  • Cross trains employees on most duties for smooth operations during absences.
  • Coaches and mentors fellow Velosity employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED-General Studies
  • Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • Preferred 2 years warehouse experience
  • Must be able to multitask; professional communication between coworkers and other departments; basic computer skills
  • To be able to perform daily tasks safely; to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment; to be able to solve practical problems and work effectively with customers, vendors and other departments.
  • Knowledge of proper use of forklift, pallet jacks, scales and other shipping equipment; working knowledge of inventory control systems including bar code systems.

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Walking is required within the office/shop areas. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance. Must be able to lift 30 pounds and move objects in a safe manner using proper equipment. Must have dexterity with hands.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner (results oriented); Ability to make decisions with limited information.

Work Environment:

This is a non-smoking, professional manufacturing shop with normal lighting and climate control. This position may require one to move throughout the shop and office and may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors as would be customary in an injection molding/ Precision Machining shop.

Protective Clothing Required:

When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed-toed/ Slip resistant shoes are also required in certain locations.
