Job Description

Torch Technologies is seeking a modeling and simulation engineer/functional analyst to join a team advising a U.S. Government organization and assisting with the development of a modeling and simulation environment.



The ideal candidate will analyze actual and predictable interacting operational activities of a technical, governmental, or business system to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision-making or resource allocation. Utilizes basic modeling and measuring techniques, mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques, and other principles and laws of scientific disciplines in determining solutions. Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff; Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues.



Role and Responsibilities



  • Daily participation on a team that develops and implements integration processes
  • Serve as a Test Engineer and technical representative to the government as needed
  • Ensure consistent test processes across M&S environments
  • Draft technical instructions, test plans, and other system integration related documents
  • Identify and support resolution of enterprise level, system of systems issues
  • Develop, Integrate and Test Missile Defense Scenarios and Test Cases
  • Troubleshoot Missile Defense Simulation Software Components
  • Design, Develop and Maintain Analysis Software Tools
  • Create and maintain user accounts
  • Perform hardware/software/network integration

Job Requirements


  • Master's degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience (note, Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with additional applicable experience may be substituted for an MS degree).



  • At least 8 years system design experience or related progressive experience.



  • Extensive experience with modeling and simulation environments such as AFSIM.



  • Demonstrated understanding of the Missile Defense System.



  • Must be a U.S. Citizen



  • Must have an active TOP SECRET DoD security clearance.



  • Must be familiar with Military Standards related to automated test equipment.



  • Must be familiar with DoD Acquisition processes or project management professional principles.





Additional Notes

This position requires candidates to possess a current TOP SECRET security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance will result in a candidate being ineligible for this position. This requirement is a condition of employment and must be maintained throughout tenure.

This position is located at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
