Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Manager Location: Orwell, OH The Kennametal manufacturing plant in Orwell, OH is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Manager within the Metal Cutting Demand Fulfillment Business Unit. The role is responsible for leading the hourly operations teams. The role has direct responsibility to impact Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) impacting safety, quality, delivery, cost and people through direct responsibility of manufacturing operations. This role partners closely with Engineering, Materials Management, Maintenance, Quality, Commercial, Finance, OPEX and Human Resources for optimized customer satisfaction and manufacturing performance. You will act as a change agent to drive improved manufacturing performance and the effectiveness of team members throughout the hourly team and their supervisors. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure adherence to plant environmental, safety and health guidelines and regulations, and foster commitment and daily engagement across the shop floor.
- Lead plant manufacturing operations, ensuring that production requirements are achieved and optimized relative to changing demand levels.
- Drive continuous improvement behaviors on the manufacturing floor and achieve operations KPI goals related to safety, quality, delivery, customer satisfaction, employee engagement and cost. Ensure compliance with established quality standards.
- Manage manufacturing operations headcount and plan, including making proactive recommendations to optimize On-Time Performance, volume and cost.
- Partner with Materials Management team to optimize manufacturing inventory levels to ensure high customer service levels.
- Proactively manage the manufacturing operations budget. Generate cost savings opportunities and partner with support teams (OPEX, Finance, Engineering, etc.) to realize improvements.
- Collaborate with Engineering to develop and implement capital projects to meet business and plant objectives.
- Proactively manage talent in the manufacturing hourly team and supervisors. Support direct report team members by conducting performance reviews, providing coaching, enabling effective training and maintaining a regular presence on all shop floor areas. Ensure direct reports are doing the same for their team members.

Position Requirements:
- Qualified candidates will have a BS in Engineering, business or a related field, a minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing, and 5 years of related manufacturing management experience.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and hands-on problem-solving skills, and experience working effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Working knowledge and success in using Lean/Six Sigma tools to drive continuous improvement with manufacturing team members throughout the shop floor. Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
- Strong experience with leading the hourly shop floor team to operate safely, proactively identify improvements and support implementation.
- Operational and management experience in batch and discrete component manufacturing environment. Experience in balancing resources (people and equipment) to deliver the results required of the Orwell, OH plant.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, set priorities, identify and resolve problems, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge and experience in using SAP is preferred.
- Strong computer literacy is required, including MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to engage and inspire team members and effectively manage personnel matters.
