We're currently seeking a Deputy Systems Manager - Human Lander System (HLS)

to join our team supporting NASA's Human Landing System (HLS) program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the HLS Computer Human Interface (CHI) System Management (SM) team in monitoring and advising contractors throughout development, testing, and certification phases.
  • Conduct integrated analysis of CHI systems-including hardware and software-and how they interface with other HLS systems and spacecraft in operational environments.
  • Manage CHI system requirements and verification processes, including analysis and decomposition of system-level functions.
  • Refine and communicate CHI subsystem architectures; evaluate impacts from HLS design changes or decisions made by NASA and contractors.
  • Identify and track CHI-related risks, propose mitigation strategies, and communicate them effectively to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate integrated analysis with other NASA programs influencing HLS.
  • Foster productive collaboration across diverse technical teams, including engineering, safety, flight operations, crew office, and module providers.
  • Track and report schedules and progress to customers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Exhibit strong communication, planning, and teamwork skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 5-10 years of relevant engineering or systems engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience in the design, development, integration, and testing of complex avionics systems.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage engineering tasks and resources, set goals, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored to a variety of audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools with excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary team environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with NASA processes and documentation standards.
  • Knowledge of flight hardware or flight certification processes.
