Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the department of Medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The Pharmacy Technician will support both the Adult and Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis (CF) programs at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital by assisting with medication access, education, and patient support. This role ensures timely and effective pharmacy services within a multidisciplinary CF care team, with the goal of improving treatment adherence and patient outcomes.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Facilitate prior authorizations, insurance claims, and specialty pharmacy coordination for CF-specific medications (e.g., CFTR modulators, inhaled antibiotics).
- Monitor and track prescription refills; escalate delays or denials to supervising pharmacist or care team.
- Liaise with patient assistance programs and foundations for financial support applications.
- Educate patients and families on medication delivery tools and schedules (under supervision).
- Provide adherence aids and educational handouts as directed by CF care team.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- National Certification required Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or at least one (1) year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
