ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Performs moderate to complex technical maintenance and repairs on distribution center mechanical equipment.
  • Works closely with Maintenance Tech I to teach repair and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Calibrates mechanical equipment, troubleshoots scanners if not functioning properly, and may upgrade mechanical equipment.
  • Maintains forklifts and other warehouse vehicles.
  • Records all work completed in a departmental log.
  • Participates in special projects and perform other duties as required.

In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:

  • Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures including WorldWide Business Standards.
  • Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

Proficiency in reading and interpreting manuals providing instruction in repair and maintenance of various machinery and equipment. Proficiency in operating powered tools, equipment, and machinery. Ability to pass machine driver safety training for all required equipment. Ability to read fine print and differentiate products with similar characteristics (size, color, vendor code).

Experience and Compensation:

Five years experience in technical maintenance, contracting, or the equivalent required. To the extent this job is performed in Sparks, Nevada, the hourly rate to be offered is $23.00 per hour. For internal promotions, this position will be offered at an increase of $1.25 to a current employee's hourly rate. For lateral internal transfers, there will be no change to a current employee's hourly rate.

Other:

Basic carpentry skills including framing, sheetrock, and painting.

Basic knowledge of welding, plumbing and aptitude for problem solving.

Physical Activities:

Ability to grasp, bend, walk, stand, reach above shoulder height, and walk extensively throughout the warehouse. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds. May encounter various environmental conditions such as hot and cool temperatures, hazardous items, noise, and dust. Required to work in confined areas, narrow aisles, on/around conveyor equipment, use ladders, use scaffolding, used specialized lift equipment, use shop tools (powered and manual devices), work inside and outside of facility including the roof in all weather seasons. Must be able to stand while operating equipment bearing full weight on both feet. May have to work on machines which operate up to 5 racks high.
