Compensation Grade: P18Compensation Details: Minimum: $66,442.00 - Maximum: $66,442.00 AnnuallyDepartment (OPH) WADS DEHS - Organic Analytical ChemistryJob Description: Responsibilities Health Research, Inc. is seeking a Research Scientist I to work within the Wadsworth Center's Division of Environmental Health Sciences. The incumbent will analyze clinical samples for selected agents of chemical terrorism utilizing various analytical methods on instruments such as Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) and Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). The incumbent will also maintain appropriate laboratory documentation, prepare quality control samples, process data, prepare reports and standard operating procedures, and participate in other appropriate related duties. This position will be part of a dynamic team serving the Wadsworth Center's mission in the New York State Department of Health's efforts to protect and promote the health of New York's citizens. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology and two years of research experience; OR a master's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology and one year of research experience. Degrees must be from an accredited institution. This position will require the incumbent will meet all Federal requirements for staff who perform clinical testing, including the educational requirements. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Travel, up to 10% of the time, may be required. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
