Independent of supervision, provide high level administrative assistance to the Chief Veterinary Medical Officer (CVMO). Manage the visitor programs for the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH), including financial transactions and regulatory compliance. Provide confidential administrative support for committee activities, special projects and events, including program assessment, planning, directing and implementing processes to ensure operational efficiency. Development of confidential materials and ability to maintain confidentiality on materials filed, copied, collated, discussed and distributed. Provide purchasing and accounts payable, and processing of travel vouchers, entertainment vouchers, direct charges and deposits. Support various assignments relating to the house officer affairs and student affairs positions.
RECRUITMENT PERIOD ONE MONTH: Applicants will be screened after two weeks; and then on a weekly basis. The position can be filled prior to the removal date.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Experience providing high level administrative support including managing complex calendars and schedules, assisting with complex meetings and events.
- Use professional concepts and skills to apply organizational policies and procedures to oversee a variety of ongoing administrative operational issues.
- Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
- Oral, written and interpersonal skills to effectively and professionally communicate in person, in writing, on the telephone, or through electronic media with a diverse set of stakeholders such as staff, students, residents and faculty, to include high level writing skills including typing, transcribing and proofreading in an expeditiously accurate manner. As well as ability to edit materials using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar and sentence structure.
- Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding time frames.
- Computer skills using Windows, Word, Excel, email, internet and other systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of common University of California specific and other computer programs.
- Skills in in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service.
- Experience administering programs in a professional education program.
- Certified Notary Public, or ability to obtain Notary Public within first year of employment.

The Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH) is a unit that provides clinical case material in support of the teaching programs throughout the School of Veterinary Medicine on a 24-hour basis. Its primary objectives are to train professional (veterinary) students, graduate clinical students (interns and residents), and graduate academic students; to provide veterinary services to the public; to serve as a referral center for practicing veterinarians, and to advance veterinary medical knowledge.

Work Environment
