Job Summary and Responsibilities

Acentra Health is looking for a Mailroom Sorter to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

As a Mailroom Sorter, you play a pivotal role in the prompt and accurate retrieval and delivery of mail. This position holds the added responsibility of claims resolution, contributing to the seamless resolution of outstanding issues and maintaining a high standard of accuracy in payment processing. This role will showcase leadership qualities, collaboration skills, and a commitment to achieving results while actively supporting company policies and building team morale.

*This is an onsite position in Cheyenne, WY.

Responsibilities:

  • Retrieve and deliver mail to USPS, Agency location, and vendors accurately, ensuring compliance with contract requirements
  • Follow precise instructions, double-check work each shift, handle claims resolution, and conduct bill-specific research for issue resolution
  • Provide guidance according with the applicable Department of Health guidelines and conduct accurate research on all claim dispute types
  • Process adjustments promptly, acting as a liaison between members, providers, agency, and internal claims department, and determining/recalculating payment amounts as required
  • Manage all aspects of mail processing, including sorting, distribution, and errands for mail pickup
  • Oversee company vehicle maintenance, gas filling, cleanliness, and license plate acquisition
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail accurately, adhering to contract requirements and guidelines
  • Track document lifecycles and maintain supplies inventory for the mailroom
  • Independently handle claims resolution, including recoupments, and enforce operational procedures
  • Review, analyze, and follow up on claims and reimbursement with a commitment to accuracy
  • Interpret and apply policies to support provider inquiries, ensuring compliance with state regulations
  • Perform manual pricing and audit checks, and process suspended claims and submitted documentation
  • Implement workflow processes for work queues and approve/deny transportation authorization requests
  • Conduct manual reviews, release claims for providers, and facilitate the entry of claims into the system
  • Scan and organize paper claims and attachments using scanning equipment
  • Navigate multiple computer, claims and eligibility platforms simultaneously
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Assisting claims department with other duties including claims resolution
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Maintain a clean driving record

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience conducting research to resolve issues within the healthcare field
  • Lift 50 pounds walking and standing
  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to customer service and operational excellence
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor and exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Possess strong computer skills in MS Word and Excel
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excel in organization, time management, and effective priority establishment
  • Read, write, and follow directions accurately
  • Work independently without direct supervision, showing self-directed capabilities
  • Collaborate effectively with team members
  • Exhibit dependability in production tasks
  • Demonstrate leadership through consistent on-site attendance, fostering a positive atmosphere and emphasizing the importance of teamwork
  • Possess knowledge of claims review and analysis, including Medicare and Medicaid processes
