This Position reports to:

Production Supervisor
Your role and responsibilities

The person in this position is responsible to support and activities of a team of employees within a work cell ensuring Safety, Quality, OEE and 5S are performed to company standards. They are responsible for motivating their team to work safely while attaining quality and productivity goals.

The work model for the role is onsite.

This role is contributing to the success of ABB ELIP Manufacturing facility in Portland, TN.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Safety - Toolbox Talks with employees at the start of the shift
  • Assign job tasks to employees by priority and qualifications
  • Complete Shift to Shift Sheets - discuss with oncoming/leaving Team Leads and your Team
  • Perform 2 Quality inspections on each work station (and testing as required on the Control Plan)
  • First Piece Inspections at Start Up - responsible for getting next orders (Labels, BOM & Control Plan) following the current schedule
  • Complete bar code scanning once per shift
  • 5S Containment Sheets - verify at each work station and audit 2 workstations per shift
  • Support Lean Methods - motivate team to always use best lean methods
  • Update production attainment boards every 2 hours
  • Keep 3-sided boards up to date during the shift (the electronic turnover should always mirror this information)
  • Relieve machine operators for breaks and lunch
  • Record machine efficiencies throughout the shift to enter information into excel worksheets at the end of the shift
  • Safety Observation Report - must perform 1 per quarter and encourage team to do the same
  • Ability to operate all production equipment within their cell and have a general knowledge of technical skilled processes and equipment.
  • Train employees and temporaries, update New Team Member Talks and Training Matrixes
Qualifications for the role
  • High School Diploma/GED is required
  • Basic Math Skills
  • Microsoft Office computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbally and written
  • Prefer 1-3 years experience as a machine operator in a similar environment
  • Will be required to complete Safety, Quality and Leadership trainings
