Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Image Management Supervisor, incumbent is responsible for idependently performing the following functions. Management of Medical Images, including hardcopy film and digitial images in the PACS system. Responsible for handling subpoenas, providing outside copy services with film and image breakdowns and associated fees, collaberates with Risk Management performing patient file audits, maintains and audits legal files for accuracy, collects fees for image copy services and prepares for daily deposit. merges duplicate MRNs to include hard copy film in addition to merging images electronically using the RIS and PACS systems. Film File Responsibilities are: single point of contact for requesting films from off site vendor. Locate, retrieve and check out film. maintain records for film file tracking and performs required follow-up through the Radiology Information System (RIS). PACS responsibilities include: verify studies are complete and available via Agfa Impax and Agfa Web1000, identify and correct entry errors, verify and request offline images using PACS service tools, print images on film media or burns images on CD using e-film, aids clinicians on accessing digital images via Web1000. Provides phone support. May enter data into TDS and Rad Plus, including appropriate ICD-9 codes. Coordinates all routing of mail that needs to be sent by FedEx. Performs other Image Management functions as directed by Supervisor.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with radiology information systems
  • Previous experience with Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must be willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays and overtime as assigned
  • Must be highly organized and able to prioritize a demanding workload
  • Medical terminology
  • Experience using hospital computer systems and software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with Risk Management and legal file auditing
  • Previous experience handling subpoenas and working with copy service agencies
  • Basic knowledge and experience with Desktop computing (PC)
