Description

Summary / Position Purpose:

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining company-wide environmental, health, and safety programs. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while fostering a strong culture of safety. The EH&S Manager will work cross-functionally with leadership, operations, and employees to identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and ensure a safe and healthy workplace for all employees.

Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:



  • Policy development and implementation with relevant regulations and best practices
  • Hazardous material management proper storage, handling, disposal and transportation
  • Regulatory compliance, staying up-to-date on relevant regulations at a local, state and federal level and ensuring the organization complies with all applicable laws and standards
  • Training and education - Developing and delivering training programs to education employees on safety protocols, procedures and importance of environmental responsibility
  • Liaison with regulatory agencies and to ensure timely reporting and remediation of compliance issues, DOT, Prop 65, Fire Marshals etc.
  • Timely and accurate preparation of regulatory reporting for all TEG sites ensuring the company remains in good standing
  • Design and deliver chemical management programs to our top customers using partners of choice like Velocity, Sphera, Encamp etc.
  • Oversees chemical programs at customer sites where TEG has implemented chemical programs to mitigate risk to the organization
  • Conducting risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks
  • Work closely with the Compliance team in regards to Facility Enviromental Compliance obligations & Occupational Health and Safety
  • Work closely with Compliance team on Product Compliance Review
  • Ensure and assist all sites are up-to-date with various permits
  • Development of Emergency Response plans and procedures
  • Investigating and documenting accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and prevent future occurrences.
  • Overseeing the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and waste
  • Indirectly and directly responsible for product quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
  • 10+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, distribution, or a related industry, with at least 2 years in management or a leadership role.
  • 5+ years of chemical management experience is highly preferred.
  • Certifications: CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager), or equivalent is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant federal and state regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing EHS programs and conducting audits.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including training and presenting to various audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. when necessary
