Job Purpose

The Senior Internal Communications Specialist supports the development and execution of business and HR communications. Identify storytelling opportunities and create content for internal communications channels that inform associates of the company's business direction. Manages internal communication tools and platforms, serves as an associate communications liaison to HR, and other internal functions and customers.

Key Accountabilities

1. Develop strategic communications for internal audiences

  • Manage the development of time-sensitive and high-visibility internal communications, including business communications, functional executive communications, HR content, risk management updates, etc.
  • Work cross functionally with business partners and senior leaders to develop and execute regional communications plans that support business unit requests.
  • Manage content publishing across all internal channels, including intranet, mobile app and digital displays.

2. Manage regional associate communications for complex and global projects

  • Develop and execute new leader communication plans
  • Support regional crisis communications
  • Partner with RCA, Corporate Strategy, Operational Communications, External Communications and Product PR for associate communications.
  • Associate communications liaison with HondaMotor on annual executive organizational announcements and Honda Motor brand survey.
  • Serve as associate communications lead for special projects and develop corresponding impactful internal communications campaigns.

3. Project/Vendor Management

  • Develop and maintain workflow schedules and timelines to ensure on-time deliverables from content developers and cross functional teams.
  • Work with designers and outside vendors to support internal communications
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or greater in Communications, PR, Journalism, or related field.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 6-8 years of Corporate Communications or PR agency experience
  • Excellent writing skills with a strong proficiency in feature writing and editing
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, and Excel
  • Ability to manage multifaceted communications projects under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

Other Job-Specific Skills:

  • Knowledge of web-based communications strategies and tools
  • Experience with digital photography and video editing
  • Experience using AI
