Job Summary

The position of the Student Services Specialist Senior for Education Concierge Services (ECS) at the Maricopa Community Colleges - District Office specializes in enrollment services for students who seek to attend a Maricopa Community College, whether they are new or continuing students to college. This position will conduct student services activities such as recruitment/outreach, admissions, registration, and account billing support.

Work with students, staff, and community members via email, phone, chat, or in person. Reconciling data and recognizing and correcting errors, ensuring compliance with funding requirements. Ensuring compliance with funding requirements, analytical thinking and problem-solving, organizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and prioritizing competing demands. Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interactions with coworkers, supervisors, the general public, and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

Essential Functions

40% - Work with students, staff, and community members via email, phone, chat, or in person. Reconciling data and recognizing and correcting errors, ensuring compliance with funding
requirements. Ensuring compliance with funding requirements, analytical thinking and problem-solving, organizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and prioritizing competing demands. Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interactions with coworkers, supervisors, the general public, and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction. Work with multiple students simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work in a hybrid / in-office environment.

20% -Conduct recruitment and outreach activities such as delivering online presentations, orientations, and/or workshops in a virtual format, follow up on student inquiries via phone, chat, and email

20% - Collects, inputs, modifies, and verifies student information into the Online Student Information System, including admissions, class registration, residency, transcripts, and graduation requirements

15% - Creates and prepares reports; collects data, researches, analyzes, and interprets complex information

5% - Assists in the training and supporting the work of student workers and temporary employees; performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

Desired Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution

2. One (1) or more year(s) of experience working in a higher education environment in a Student Affairs role such as admissions, records, academic advisement, and/or registration

3. Experience in tracking, analyzing, and reporting data

4. Experience working with a Customer Relations Management (CRM) database

5. Experience using digital tools such as virtual and chat rooms to service customers

6. Experience working with a culturally diverse student population

7. Experience using Online Student Information Systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Banner, etc.)

Special Working Conditions

Work with multiple students simultaneously in a fast paced environment. Ability to work in a hybrid / in office environment. Work is routinely performed in an indoor, office environment.
