Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 3:00 pm

Pay: $78,000 - $90,000/year

Summary

The CNC Supervisor provides supervision of daily activities of CNC production area to ensure uniform manufacturing operations for machining will meet customer expectations. Enforces policies, processes and systems that ensure a high level of quality, productivity, and safety, while ensuring on time delivery of products.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises direction and coordinates the operations of the manufacturing floor (including all machines) and has consistent communication with other departments on needs, priorities, and issues.
  • Perform technical machine troubleshooting and resolve issues.
  • Supports programs to plan, schedule, support, and improve manufacturing efforts and enhances value-add operations while reducing and eliminating non-value-added activities.
  • Maintain a production facility in which cleanliness, quality, and safety are second to none.
  • Leads regular communications with the team pertaining to company and department performance, with the goals of improving throughput and reducing waste.
  • Partners with teams, including CNC process engineering and quality to establish corrective actions and prevent recurrences.
  • Reduces variation in the work environment through the implementation of Lean tools including 5S tools, Kanban, standard work, etc.
  • Develops standard work for departmental processes.
  • Reviews work instructions through change request process with the goal of standardization.

Qualifications

  • Ability to apply technical knowledge related to the field of manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot CNC machines.
  • Demonstrated expertise in methodologies for process controls and their applications.
  • Demonstrated skills and understanding of continuous improvement methods to enhance safety, on-time delivery, cost, and quality of products.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse community of customers and employees at all levels.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints, plans, GD&T callouts, and specifications.
  • Ability to read and write manufacturing reports and correspondence.
  • Capacity to comprehend detailed and complex information and ideas, and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and deliver information to managers, supervisors, and subordinates using various methods of communication (telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in-person).
  • Ability to multi-task, follow-through, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capacity to work under pressure while maintaining perspective.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Strong operational thinking that moves the organization's vision and goals to successful implementation.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills that are aligned to our company core values.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of composite manufacturing process.

Education

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience or training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience can be used in lieu of above requirement.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years' supervision experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the CNC environment.

Computer Skills

  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite to interoperate and create reports preferred.
  • Prior experience with an ERP system preferred.

Working Conditions

While performing the typical duties of this job, employees will experience the conditions noted below. PPE is provided to protect employees against physical harm or hazards in the workplace environment.

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk in an office environment.
  • Usually work indoors. These sites may not be temperature controlled.
  • Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels
  • Exposure to hazardous equipment
  • Exposure to contaminants
  • Shared workspaces with other employees
  • Requires handling objects of up to 50 lbs.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending
  • Standing and/or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day (varies based on role, shift, and overtime)

Required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

Required PPE provided by SEKISUI Aerospace based on the employee's position and exposure. Below are typical PPE used on the production floor. Appropriate PPE must be worn by all employees when on the production floor.

  • Ear Plugs - Earmuffs
  • Full Face Shield
  • Gloves (Latex, Rubber, Chemical Resistant, General Duty)
  • Protective Apron
  • Respirator
  • Safety Glasses - Safety Goggles

Pay

SEKISUI Aerospace is required by Washington law to include the pay for this role when hiring a Washington resident. Pay may be higher or lower for non-resident WA employees, based on the market data for their region, allowing us to pay employees competitively in different geographic markets.
