MicroHealth is seeking an experienced Systems Developer to join our dynamic team. This role will support the Benefits and Memorial (BAM) Program Management Office (PMO) in developing, maintaining, and modernizing enterprise-level systems within the VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC) environment. This role requires expertise in cloud development, system architecture, and agile methodologies to support the Benefits Integration Platform (BIP) and related BAM portfolio systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop detailed system architecture based on requirements analysis and enterprise architecture documentation
- Create application-level architecture consistent with VA Enterprise Architecture (EA) frameworks and methodologies
- Define hardware and software technical specifications, including sizing, performance requirements, and interface specifications
- Analyze information relative to application/system software design incorporating interfaces with other products
- Maintain requirements traceability in VA-approved tools to ensure all requirements are traceable to software design
- Document User Stories and functional requirements according to Agile development methodologies
- Conduct business change request analysis and translate to functional/technical requirements
- Support migration of legacy applications to VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC-Azure/AWS)
- Implement and maintain DevSecOps methodologies and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline)
- Work with configuration management tools and maintain centrally located, configuration-controlled repositories
- Develop and maintain security requirements and documentation for Authority to Operate (ATO) processes
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and ensure compliance with VA security standards
- Interface with stakeholder technical personnel to capture interface patterns and technical rules
- Maintain system information aligned to product lines including VA systems inventory
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field
- 5-10 years of experience in systems development and architecture(An additional 5years of experience may be substituted for the education requirement)
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and cloud migration projects
- SQL - Oracle DB query development
- Pro*C coding compiling, managing, batch processing, and other development support
- Linux / Unix commands, log review, report generation
- Proven experience with Agile/SAFe methodologies
- Proficiency in system architecture design and enterprise architecture frameworks
- Experience with DevSecOps tools and practices (Jenkins, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Understanding of security frameworks (FISMA, NIST, FIPS)
- Experience with configuration management and version control system
Desired Skills:
- Microsoft VB.Net application modernization efforts
- Jira- create, manage,update assign backlogs
- Java development experience
- GitHub - manage repository, branches, etc for coding changes
- VA or federal government experience
Salary:
$110,000 - $145,000
