The Director, Operations Performance Optimization will be assigned to one or more of UnitedHealthcare's largest Medical/Dental clients. This individual we be responsible for providing senior oversight and leadership of clients' implementation requirements and continuous quality assurance and improvement related to critical Operational processes. This individual will coordinate and ensure completion of projects across various functional areas. Providing subject matter expertise in areas including project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, and other areas of expertise based on established project management techniques.

If you are located in the East Coast and Central Time Zones, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of multiple projects
  • Ensure resource availability, allocation, and performance
  • Collaborate with internal and external team members to understand the challenges, risks, recommendations and develop a report out to leadership for decision making
  • Work with project managers to develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Identify opportunities for operational enhancements and have oversight of projects to achieve an improved state
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Report and escalate issues/delays to management as needed
  • Execute risk management protocols to identify and minimize potential risks
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs
  • Meet with client, internal team members, and leadership to provide update

Required Qualifications:



  • 10+ years of experience in health care and an insurance environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Proven solid critical thinking and history of process improvement success
  • Demonstrated outstanding written, verbal, and project management skills


Preferred Qualification:



  • Understanding of UMR

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $156,400 to $268,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
