Role Overview

The Compliance Manager will work under the Head of Compliance to execute day-to-day compliance tasks, including responding to audits, drafting policies, managing compliance reporting, and monitoring regulatory changes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in telehealth, Medicare/Medicaid compliance, and e-prescribing laws.

Key Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance & Policy Development
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and updating compliance policies and procedures related to:
    • Telehealth laws and e-prescribing regulations (Ryan Haight Act, DEA, state laws).
    • Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and fraud prevention (FWA).
    • HIPAA, HITECH, and data privacy laws.
    • Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS) and Stark Law compliance.
  • Monitor state-by-state telehealth regulations, ensuring the company's practices remain compliant.
  • Help track DEA registration and e-prescribing compliance for licensed telehealth providers.
  • Support compliance with state Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMPs) and EPCS (Electronic Prescriptions for Controlled Substances) safeguards.
Audit & Investigation Support
  • Prepare and manage documentation for regulatory audits, payer audits, and government compliance reviews.
  • Support internal audits to identify compliance gaps and assist in corrective actions.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments, escalating issues to the Head of Compliance.
  • Assist in investigating compliance concerns, including prescribing compliance, billing accuracy, and marketing practices.
Medicare, Medicaid & Payer Compliance
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies related to telehealth reimbursement, billing, and fraud prevention.
  • Support Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) monitoring and compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to CMS and payer guidelines.
  • Help track and report compliance issues related to claim submissions, provider enrollment, and payer contract requirements.
Telehealth & E-Prescribing Compliance
  • Assist in monitoring telemedicine prescribing workflows and compliance with the Ryan Haight Act, DEA regulations, and state laws.
  • Support compliance with EPCS requirements and provider credentialing/licensing.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure accurate provider registrations for DEA and Medicaid participation.
Training & Compliance Culture
  • Assist in developing compliance training materials for internal teams, providers, and business stakeholders.
  • Support training sessions on telehealth laws, Medicare/Medicaid billing compliance, and e-prescribing best practices.
  • Promote a culture of compliance, integrating compliance awareness into daily operations.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 4-7 years of healthcare compliance experience in telehealth, digital health, or payer compliance.
  • Familiarity with telehealth and e-prescribing laws, including the Ryan Haight Act, DEA regulations, and state prescribing laws.
  • Experience in Medicare/Medicaid billing compliance, provider enrollment, and FWA prevention.
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), and Stark Law.
  • Experience handling regulatory audits, payer compliance reviews, and fraud investigations.
  • Ability to draft, update, and implement compliance policies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree required; CHC (Certified in Healthcare Compliance) or JD is a plus.

The base salary range for this position is$120,000- $140,000 In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed hereTeladoc Health Benefits 2025.Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
