Project Accountant

We are in search of an enthusiastic and organized individual with a proactive mindset to join our finance team at HGA. Based in our Minneapolis office, the ideal Project Accountant thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys working across the firm to support the financial health of our projects.

Key responsibilities include partnering with and supporting project teams by ensuring accurate and timely preparation of client billings, per contract terms, and managing consultant invoices in line with HGA's internal controls, accounting principles, and professional standards.

oversee project billing by conducting thorough contract reviews to understand billing requirements, collaborating with principals and project managers, assessing profit margins, and building familiarity with assigned clients;
1. maintain accounts receivables including efficiently posting bills and tracking unusual payment trends to ensure healthy financial operations;
2. proactively review and manage collection activities, addressing delinquent accounts with management or clients as needed;
3. monitor client payments to ensure timely consultant reimbursements, initiate consultant payments, and maintain controls for successful reimbursement processes;
4. manage consultant invoice processing;
5. develop and foster collaborative relationships with principals and project managers to enhance financial coordination;
6. support month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure financial accuracy and compliance; and
7. participate in special projects applying your experiences to ensure successful financial operations.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration preferred
• Minimum three (3) years of previous experience in accounting, finance or business analytics; professional services environment preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint experience a plus
• Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships across an organization

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $60,400 - $81,600

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
