Job Description:

Job Summary
  • Provides internal consultation to support the conceptualization, planning, and implementation of strategies, programs and initiatives to promote inclusion and support the Southwest Competency to Foster Belonging. Develops and maintains a comprehensive understanding of tactics and best practices to improve Employee engagement. This role embodies The Southwest Way Value to make others feel welcomed, cared for, and appreciated and embrace and support our communities.

Additional details

  • The culture of Southwest Airlines means we value the camaraderie, collaboration, and innovation that occurs when we come together and interact face-to-face at our vibrant Corporate Campus. Due to the nature of this role, you would be required to work from our Dallas, TX Headquarters facility during business hours.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate an understanding of best practices, trends, and standards that promote inclusion and Foster Belonging across a large and diverse Workforce
  • Develop and sustain exceptional partnerships with Business Partners, Workgroups, and Employees
  • Develop and/or enhance Inclusion programs that support the business objectives of Southwest Airlines
  • Facilitate conversations and/or present information to Employee-based Councils, groups, and Company-sponsored events
  • Plan and deliver effective and engaging educational experiences and resources to people with varying levels of understanding across Frontline and Campus-based Workgroups
  • Research trends and best practices, identifying opportunities for program enhancements
  • Support and/or lead programming to promote inclusion and Foster Belonging, including being the main point of contact, planning content, assisting with the strategic roadmap of the program, and/or finding continuous improvement opportunities
  • Serve as an advocate who builds connections between various Departments, and Employees to ensure consistent communication, understanding, and adoption of Inclusion strategies
  • Represent Southwest and the Inclusion Team at related conferences, consortiums, and other industry group meetings
  • Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including building effective presentations in PowerPoint
  • Skilled in Project Management, including planning, risk/issue management, communication and action planning, stakeholder management, status reporting, and understanding of change leadership concepts
  • Ability to understand and interact with people of different backgrounds with sensitivity to cultural differences, to create inclusive environments
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities autonomously and proactively, taking direction as needed
  • Ability to work effectively with others at all levels of the organization, consistently displaying a high level of empathy, compassion, and emotional intelligence
  • Ability to conduct research, analyze data, and make suggestions for problem solving
  • Ability to think strategically, with tactical execution
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
  • Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
  • Writing, editing, and delivering presentations and/or reports effectively and concisely
  • Supporting large-scale, complex communication efforts, either from within a business organization or from a strong partnership with the business
Physical Abilities
  • Ability to perform work duties from limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines

Pay & Benefits

  • Competitive market salary from$100,700 - $111,900per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
