Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Oncology Sexual Health Specialist to lead and support our Sexual Wellness services as part of comprehensive cancer and survivorship care. This role is responsible for planning, administering, and advancing sexual health services for patients affected by cancer, while also supporting caregivers and collaborating with the broader oncology care team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and address sexual health concerns related to cancer diagnosis and treatment.

  • Integrate sexual health expertise into the oncology care team.

  • Develop and expand sexual wellness services within cancer care and the local community.

  • Provide education and support to patients, caregivers, and staff.

  • Participate in occasional community presentations (not regularly scheduled; discussed and compensated accordingly).

Schedule & Flexibility:

  • 16 hours per week, with a preference for Thursday and Friday coverage.

  • Flexible scheduling available to accommodate the right candidate.

  • No regular weekend involvement, though occasional compensated community presentations may arise.

Location & Licensure:

  • In-person candidates in Illinois are preferred.

  • Virtual candidates are welcome, especially those with expertise in oncology sexual health.

  • Illinois licensure is ideal. For virtual candidates, compact licensure (e.g., WI, IN) is acceptable and beneficial for supporting patients across multiple states.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed therapist, social worker, or registered nurse (RN) in Illinois.

  • Certification as a Sexual Health Educator, Counselor, or Therapist from a recognized program.

  • Membership or certification from one or more of the following:

    • AASECT (American Association for Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists)

    • SSTAR (Society for Sex Therapy and Research)

    • IBOSP (International Board of Sexuality Professionals)

    • Or an equivalent recognized sexual health organization.

  • 3-5 years of experience in oncology preferred.

  • Experience in care management and sexual health specialization.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver educational content effectively.
