In the role of Environmental EIT, we'll count on you to:

  • Assist Senior Engineers in environmental remediation projects that include remediation design and implementation
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
  • Complete projects that have clear, specified objectives and limited variables
  • Perform administrative duties associated with project management for environmental remediation projects
  • Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
  • Complete duties requiring field work and travel as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed


Preferred Qualifications

  • General environmental engineering experience, but will consider entry level candidates, particularly with prior internship experience in a related field
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and GIS experience
  • Strong interest in learning and training and honing skills in the below areas is a plus with preference towards prior experience.


Field Work & Site Investigation



  • Prior experience with field work, including environmental and/or remedial technologies.
  • Experience with field investigation and drilling programs, including sampling of soil, groundwater, and soil gas.
  • Some experience working on remediation projects, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), site cleanup, sampling, and reporting.
  • Overseeing installation and sampling from groundwater monitoring wells.


Technical Reporting & Data Analysis



  • Experience preparing technical reports, including groundwater quality assessments.
  • Experience preparing well diagrams and boring logs.
  • Experience working with large data sets and performing data analysis, including statistical analyses.
  • Proficiency in Excel and interpreting soil/groundwater laboratory analytical reports.


Regulatory Knowledge & Permitting



  • Understanding of local permitting and regulatory requirements. Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Nevada regulatory experience a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand permits and associated permit requirements
  • Basic knowledge of federal CERCLA regulations.
  • Experience with federal Superfund projects.
  • Experience developing and negotiating remedial actions, including on federal projects.
  • Experience with industrial wastewater permitting, including wastewater reuse and Idaho Pollutant Discharge Elimination System.


Remediation & Design



  • Knowledge of remedial design/remedial action phases of environmental projects.
  • Experience with mining remediation is a plus.
  • Office work may include preparation of preliminary design drawings and specifications, evaluation of field data, generation of data tables, design calculations, and support for remedial and pre-design investigation, remedial design, and feasibility study reports.


Client & Sector Experience



  • Experience assisting clients with technical projects in the industrial sector, including agriculture, food processing, and mining.


Certifications & Training



  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred.


Other Preferences



  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Local candidates preferred.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related Engineering field
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
