In the role of Environmental EIT, we'll count on you to:
- Work on a wide variety of MSW, CCR, or facilities related projects including but not limited to landfills, impoundments, compost facilities, transfer stations, material recovery facilities, household hazardous waste facilities, and organics facilities.
- Work with a team of staff engineers in preparation of design deliverables including strategic planning, engineering design reports, construction drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates and construction schedules with support from HDR's national practice leads.
- Participate in meetings with clients and regulatory agencies to resolve technical issues and negotiate compliance actions.
- Will also serve as a consultant and supervisor of waste construction management projects as needed.
- Work independently on technical tasks involving data analysis, interpreting results, and preparing technical reports, plans and specifications.
- Assist Senior Engineers in environmental remediation projects that include remediation design and implementation
- Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
- Complete projects that have clear, specified objectives and limited variables
- Perform administrative duties associated with project management for environmental remediation projects
- Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
- Complete duties requiring field work and travel as needed
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience, waste management/design, civil site engineering, or related experience preferred.
- Professional engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of client relationship management and evidence of experience interacting directly with clients higher preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Teams, OneNote, etc.).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related Engineering field
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
