The Senior Principal Engineer is a key technical leader within the TTH functional pathway, bringing advanced design authority, deep technical expertise, and strong leadership skills. This role spans across multiple products, departments, and discipline, serving as a trusted advisor on cross-product applications. The Senior Principal Engineer ensures the application of robust systems engineering practices, leads technical development efforts, and provides guidance across a variety of engineering initiatives. This position also champions adherence to design and development standards, supports product innovation, and plays a vital role mentoring and developing engineering talent across the organization.

As a Senior Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and approving complex BOMs and design reports for rated valves.
  • Troubleshooting assembly and testing issues.
  • Identifying current product offerings that can replace legacy parts.
  • Leading efforts to supersede and obsolete legacy parts.
  • Designing spare parts to retrofit or replace obsolete parts in legacy valves.
  • Addressing deviation requests and managing non-conformances.
  • Handling vendor requests for material replacements.
  • Providing engineering support for E&O and stock use-up decisions.
  • Designing and activating springs for SY and DM valves in new part creation.
  • Reviewing and implementing changes to standards like ASME and API throughout the organization.
  • Mentoring and training personnel on Pressure Relief Valves.
  • Participating as a member of the ASME code committee subgroup for design and materials in Section XIII.
  • Conducting consolidated product design reviews as third party.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Have 10+ years of engineering experience with a focus on design, BOM configuration, and legacy part support.
  • Have 5+ years of experience working with pressure relief valves.
  • Be familiar with ASME B & PVC, Section 1 & VIII, ASME B16.34, and API standards and codes.
  • Have experience with SAP/Oracle or similar ERP systems.
