Overview

The Warehouse Manager will manage all aspects of the warehouse and fleet activities. This includes inbound material handling, outbound material handling, storage, material and equipment procurement, warehouse layout and fleet maintenance, inventory control and maintenance of tools and equipment.

Location & Travel Details: You can be based in any city or state in the U.S.. This is a traveling, project based position, up to 90% of the time. You have the potential to be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the US. You'll spend 8-18 months on average per project. We offer designated per diem in addition to an excellent base salary to support and help you cover living expenses. This position is eligible for mobilization support (may include mileage reimbursement), and includes one longer weekend every four weeks for additional time at home. A company vehicle and fuel card OR vehicle allowance will be provided.

Responsibilities

    To plan, organize and control warehouse over-all operations.
  • Procure and maintain company vehicle and equipment fleets.
  • To constantly plan out all warehouse resources and activities in relation to project objectives and set targets
  • Maintain accurate computerized inventory control.
  • Maintain physical security of stored materials.
  • Shipment of project materials and equipment to project sites.
  • Receiving inspection and documentation of receipts of project materials
  • Receiving Reports and Over/Short/Damaged Report
  • To implement cost reduction principle in all aspects of warehouse transactions, vehicle fleet and equipment.
  • Proactively brief team leaders on a weekly basis of needs and concerns
  • To negotiate rates with common carrier representatives.

Safety

  • Hold valid first aid and supervisor training certificates.
  • Knowledge safety solutions and PPE for construction trades.
  • Review and approve SWPs for assigned warehouse and staff.
  • Conduct and record regular safety inspections on equipment.
  • Promptly and accurately complete investigations and reports on all near misses and all personal injury or property damage accidents.
  • Set a personal example of safe behavior.

SUPERVISORY

  • Manage, lead direct reports, and mentor.
  • This position could manage the Warehouse Coordinator position and at times additional staff for specific temporary projects.


Qualifications

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED and 10 years' experience in heavy industrial construction field, maintenance or warehouse and 5 years + experience managing equipment and vehicle fleets.
  • Experience with asset management and tracking software is preferred.
  • 5 years managing a mid-size fleet of vehicles.
  • 3 years working with rental fleets supplies.
  • 2 years using a counterbalance forklift and all-terrain fork lift.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.
  • When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.
  • Set a personal example of safe behavior.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction tools, materials and equipment.
  • Experience with the following crafts: piping, steel erection, carpentry, millwrights, electrical and concrete.
  • Experience shipping materials via ground, air and barge.
  • Other may duties may be assigned
  • Maintain in-depth relations with all members of their team and your supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
  • May need to maintain physical strength and stamina; Use arms, hands, and legs fully; Push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb to perform job tasks.
  • Stamina to perform this task repetitively and continuously for several hour intervals.
  • Uncontrolled environmental conditions: Constant change in weather and site conditions.
  • This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to- safety toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
  • Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
  • May need to work at heights and must be able to abide by all safety and fall-protection requirements; must be able to wear and utilize all safety equipment required for work at heights.
  • Evaluate information based on measurable standards; and see details in objects or drawings and recognize slight differences in shapes and shadings.
  • Visualize objects in three dimensions from drawings.
  • Keep good balance and work at heights.
  • See well (either naturally or with correction).

  • Coordinate the use of eyes, hands, and feet.

HOURS:

This position is a Full-Time position scheduled to work typically 50 hours per week. Schedule is subject to projects requirements.
