If you are a science and space enthusiast who is excited about working on cutting-edge technology and with a talented team of professionals, then you will be excited about the Senior Cloud Engineer position with Iridium for a Space Development Agency (SDA) project. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable infrastructure systems using Amazon Web Services (AWS) to support mission-critical operations. In this role, you will focus primarily on developing secure, high-performance cloud solutions, automating deployment processes, and ensuring system reliability. This position requires an active/current Top Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Support the design and deployment of applications utilizing the AWS stack to contribute to scalable, secure, and robust cloud solutions
• Play a key role in creating and implementing automation processes and standards for AWS cloud service
• Collaborate with team members to ensure all infrastructure components meet proper performance and security standards
• Work independently to conduct systems tests for security, performance, and availability
• Develop and update design and troubleshooting documentation

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a combination of equivalent education and work experience/certifications
• 8+ years of relevant experience in IT systems and infrastructure, with at least 5 years of experience supporting Cloud on AWS
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, cloud security, observability, container services on AWS
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues to groups outside of your team or those who are unfamiliar with the topic
• Have confidence and be able to easily build relationships with leadership and colleagues outside of your team
• Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions and come up with out-of-the-box solutions
• Be proactive in providing feedback and be enthusiastic in sharing your knowledge with others
• Capable of prioritizing your own tasks and potentially the tasks of others while making sure deadlines are met

• AWS Cloud Certification
• Direct experience with Government customers in a classified environment

• Be able to support 24/7 on-call on an as-needed basis
• Be able to travel up to 10%
• Be a US Citizen

This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer. The role typically requires the use of basic office equipment such as a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
