INSTRUCTIONAL COACH - PROJECT LEAD THE WAY ( PLTW ) - SECONDARY

Milwaukee Public Schools seeks an exceptional Central Services Teacher - Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Secondary candidate who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders.

Central Services Teacher - Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Secondary provides teacher coaching support for MPS Schools with PLTW Programs. The position is responsible for assisting teachers in properly implementing the PLTW curriculum and on the use of related technology and equipment in the classroom.

Physical Demands:

Education Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree.
• Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Teaching License.
• PLTW Master Teacher Certification.

Experience Requirements:

• Five years of fully licensed teaching experience with middle and/or high school grades.
• Formal PLTW training and PLTW teaching experience.
• Deep knowledge of PLTW curriculum and associated technologies

• Visits PLTW schools to provide hands-on coaching for teachers during the school year and during summer training.
• Offers coaching/mentoring services for MPS teachers in PLTW pre-engineering programs.
• Customizes implementation of the PLTW curriculum in a manner to fit individual school needs.
• Provides professional development to teachers in the use of equipment and new technologies required for PLTW instruction.
• Updates PLTW teacher database and information on school computer labs and equipment.
• Introduces new teachers to Core Training registration, Readiness Training, and PLTW systems.
• Assists teachers with lesson plans and differentiated instruction.
• Assists teachers with assessments and rubrics.
• Assists with PLTW summer camps.
• Assists teachers and students with special event presentations and demonstrations.
• Assists teachers in providing mentorship for students interested in post-secondary enrollment in engineering and technology fields.
• Assists teachers in robotics/technology after-school programs and/or PLTW competitions.
• Attends required staff and district meetings.
• Attends professional development and PLTW training to maintain or upgrade skills.
• Assists in maintaining equipment used in PLTW classrooms and labs, i.e. 3-D printers
• Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The salary range for this position starts at $52,827.70 and increases according to a set salary schedule which is based on years' of work experience as a fully licensed teacher/pupil services educator in a K-12 setting and education beyond a bachelor's degree.

Salary range: $52,827.70 - 99,937.66 (191-day teacher calendar)
