Position Highlights |
The College of Medicine-Phoenix - Department of Family Community & Preventative Medicine is seeking a Program Manager to assist in the administration and oversight of the Department's growing research and quality improvement portfolio. The incumbent will report to the Department Chair and Senior Director of Clinical Research to provide day to day operational and regulatory support for numerous quality research initiatives to ensure successful implementation of and adherence to research protocols and milestones regarding planning, administration, timeline management, coordination, enrollment, participant engagement, data collection, and reporting. This position will manage coordination and administration of Department and IRB approved initiatives including federal and sponsored projects. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Implementation & Coordination
- Provide day to day operational oversight of the departmental research activities.
- Ensure projects are implemented effectively and efficiently.
- Serve as liaison with grantors, project team members, and other stakeholders.
- Address concerns to ensure team is aligned on project goals and objectives.
- Ensure all project deliverables are completed and all grant requirements are met.
- Ensure quality and timely submission of data across projects.
- Participate in local and national collaborative calls related to program operations.
- Project Planning & Design
- Participate in evaluation of new project requests to assess feasibility of proposed resource allocation and clinical needs.
- Develop project plans that align with grant objectives and requirements.
- Define project scope, tasks, timelines, and resources.
- Planning, designing, and review of study specific budget and documentation needs, team effort and hospital resources, establishing priorities and recommending schedules, timetables and costs.
- Oversee department clinical research submission process for new studies, facilitating research determination, interdisciplinary reviews and status tracking of department study portfolio in regulatory review.
- Assist compliance team with IRB submissions, amendments, and regulatory documents.
- Serve as the primary resource to investigators, sponsors, and collaborators for project conduct.
- Grant Compliance & Reporting
- Understanding and adhering to all grant regulations and reporting requirements.
- Preparing and submitting timely and accurate reports to the grantor.
- Preparing a final project report and closing out the grant.
- Financial & Data Management
- Maintenance and reporting of departmental study portfolio.
- Data management and acquisitions.
- Tracking grant expenditures and ensuring they comply with the grant agreement.
- Managing the project budget and working with DO/DA and SPM for needed adjustments.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.

Preferred Qualifications |
- PMP or other lean process certifications.
- Experience with development, coordination, and submission of applications for funding from private, federal, and state sources.
- Experience in academic clinical research setting.
- Experience in coordination of clinical Quality Improvement initiatives.
- Experience working with with investigators, sponsors, and cross-functional teams.
