The Audiology Manager is responsible for achieving departmental and organizational goals through effective leadership and coordination of staff. This role sets strategic and operational objectives for the Audiology team and works closely with the Department of Otolaryngology to align clinical services and optimize patient care delivery.
As a steward of departmental resources, the manager oversees the responsible use of human, financial, and physical assets in compliance with internal policies and institutional goals. They ensure adherence to internal controls, manage operational systems and procedures, and safeguard departmental assets. The manager is also responsible for resource allocation, operational oversight, and both short- and long-term planning. They provide leadership and guidance to ensure the team meets all standards for patient care, quality, and compliance with regulatory agencies.
In addition to their administrative responsibilities the Audiology Manager may have the opportunity to contribute to or lead clinical research initiatives, collaborate with faculty across disciplines, and support the advancement of academic research programs within the department.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload a license and/or certification if required for the position
- Current California State Dispensing Audiologist License
- Doctor of Audiology
- Continuing professional education is necessary to maintain a high level of expertise in the areas of audiology and hearing aid dispensing
- Management/supervisory/leadership experience to effectively lead and direct subordinate staff using original and innovative approaches and techniques to solve complex problems, recognize trends, develop long-range goals, and analyze data of a complex and variable nature in a manner consistent with system-wide objectives and initiatives
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to review information, conclude, develop, and evaluate alternatives/solutions
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills to clearly and effectively interact with a diverse group of patients and individuals a all levels within the organization; receive, elicit, and convey information of medical, financial, or administrative nature; and compose letters, reports, policies, and procedures
- Knowledge of current hearing aids and other assistive listening devices, including programmable/digital hearing aids and the software necessary to fit them
- Knowledge of current cochlear implants, including candidacy criteria, expected outcomes, and familiarity with programming software
- Knowledge of current bone conduction implants, including candidacy criteria, expected outcomes, and familiarity with programming software
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and their families
- Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and other health care providers
- Organization skills are necessary to maintain accurate records related to patient care

Department Overview
The Department of Audiology offers specialized expertise in auditory and vestibular sciences, utilizing the latest medical technologies and evidence-based treatment approaches to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. The department plays a key role in supporting the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, particularly in the evaluation and management of pre- and post-surgical patients.
Services provided by the Audiology team include comprehensive audiologic and vestibular evaluations; cochlear implant and bone conduction implant assessment, programming, and ongoing management; hearing aid and assistive listening device fitting and support; as well as OSHA-compliant hearing screenings.
